TEL Instrument Avionics Test Set

This instrument is used in commercial and military avionics, providing a technician with a comprehensive suite of test capabilities in a single ruggedized, yet lightweight, package. The unit features a highly readable and responsive color touchscreen for quick and convenient avionics testing – especially for performing FAA required tests. Phase One Design carried out a number of ergonomic mockup studies in order to develop a handle and strap configuration that would make the instrument comfortable to hold in the right or left hand. The injection molded TPE grips house and protect externally mounted control elements and provide cushioning and protection should the instrument be dropped. We worked closely with TIC’s engineers to develop the detailed designs of the grips, integrating them with their design for the CNC aluminum center enclosure.
